I got two light bulbs thru Amazon. I paid 18 dollars a piece plus shipping and handling. I just saw a similar item at Target for 3.99 a piece. The only difference, 2 watts. I’m sure the light bulbs I got thru Amazon are very good. I just wish I had not paid that much.

Over time I have been exchanging light bulbs in my house to lower wattage, fluorescents, or LEDs, depending on use. Be aware that with these lights they are `slow’ to light up, and if you are going to keep them on for longer than `3′ hours a day the base of the bulb puts out noticeable heat so make sure it is well ventilated or like me this bulb will only last 5 to 6 months. The one I put on my porch lasted through this winter, and true to packaging it did work well as long as the temp was above 5 F (-15 c). Will not work with a dimmer, (even with the dimmer all the way on, needs 110 v min or won’t turn on) so during `brown outs’ they also `die’. In the end I’m glad I did not put them in the dining room as the bulbs do contain mercury, and the bulb is adverse to high moisture. Also in the cautions is that you are advised to not touch the glass part of the bulb to install or remove but to handle the bulb by grasping the base. Considering how long they lasted they `paid’ for themselves, but I would not say they saved me any money.
