PG Tips has been the best known and most popular brand of tea in the UK for over 75 years. Stronger than most Indian and African teas, PG Tips has a similar taste to English Breakfast Tea.

Having always had trouble finding loose PG Tips in the US, I finally popped for this multipack, and have no complaints–it arrived quickly, and was well-packaged and fresh-tasting, not to mention a good bargain. Of course, about a month later, my local grocer started stocking loose PG Tips. And I have enough tea for at least a year. sigh.

After moving to the US from England 22 years ago, finding PG Tips tea has been one of my biggest challenges. Now, I no longer have to beg friends and relatives to bring back tea from trips to England, nor do I have to drive 60 miles to find over-priced and beyond-expiration-date loose-leaf tea.

This tea is full flavored, robust and very quick steeping. The leaves are very fine requiring a fine mesh tea strainer, but the small size of the leaves is the secret of the flavor and strength of the resulting brew. Use briskly boiling water, warm the teapot, pour the briskly boiling water promptly over the leaves and let steep a few minutes. Use milk if that is to your taste, and sip promptly. Ah delicious! These fine tea leaves make more cups per pound than any other brand I have tried, so it is more economical to use than Lipton’s loose leaf tea, and tastes better and brews faster. If you love tea, you cannot go wrong with PG Tips.

PG Tips loose leaf tea is my favorite black tea. It’s strong and hearty. I’d been having trouble finding the loose leaf version and was delighted to find it on Amazon for a better price than I’d been paying at a well known healthy grocery store.

This is a great tea. I brew the bulk stuff in a coffee maker which is very quick, and comes out well. If you’re used to lipton, you can make it taste near the same if you water it down by about 3 fold. It’s an excellent price, and even if you don”t like something so strong, and want to brew sweet tea, just water it down, and you get about 3x the amount of brewed tea for the same weight of dried tea.
I personally like this tea a lot with some orange blossom honey and a little milk- flavored teas I like without milk, but this one is a great alternative to coffee, and tastes better. It wakes you up, but doesn’t bring you down as harsh as coffee. I would definitely recommend this black over any others I’ve tried. Additionally, you can use the brewed tea for some healthy compost.

I own a Mr. Coffee TM3-2 3-Quart Ice Tea Maker and this loose tea is so much more convenient than de-tagging and stuffing 9 tea bags into it (especially with those metal staples in them, that’s always bothered me)! The ice tea maker’s instructions said to use 3 tablespoons of loose tea, but I think PG Tips is much stronger than your average black tea; I use half as much (1.5 tablespoons) and it’s perfect for my Southern U.S. taste buds. Do use some standard coffee filters (I double-up) when brewing tea this way. I imagine with 2-quart ice tea maker you can reduce the amount of tea by 1/3 (1 tablespoon), but play around with it and see how you like it!

I am a tea snob. I only buy my tea in England and fill up suitcase on the way home from my visit. PG tips is the best. I have tried them all and the only one that comes close is Yorkshire tea. I don’t do tea bags and I don’t do flavors. Just give a stong “stewed” tea and PG is tops. It has the pure tea flavor with no undertones.

Great tea! I use Lipton Loose Tea, 8-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 6) most of the time, but it wasn’t in stock so I bought this. It’s loose tea, but it’s not really leaves like the Lipton. It’s more like grounds. It makes a very strong tea. I use it for sweet iced tea and use two scoops (have to use 3 scoops of Lipton) and it’s delicious over ice. Very highly recommended.

this is a full-bodied tea that I use in my french press – i usually don’t like loose leaf tea because of the tea leaf mess – but a french press prevents the mess and I can’t believe I waited so long – this tea is great and is very strong – a little goes a long way

I’m happy to find my morning tea on Amazon. I used to have to bring it home from every trip or have friends bring from the UK.
