Ease of use is not this phone’s forte. But, then, once you get going you would hardly need to do much else. Speakerphone works ok.
Display is not LCD I believe and hence gives very good battery life.
Its strongest point is its abuse-resistance(drops on concrete floors etc.).
One time, this phone was accidentally left in a pocket and went through a full wash cycle and ended up in the dryer as well. At the end of it all, it worked as usual
Wouldn’t you call that a true backup phone. It does not cost you much, just buy one and keep it as a backup.
Kudos to Motorola for designing a basic but highly robust design. I am sure some of the smart phones could take some design principles away from this device.
