I researched this product and compared it to several out on the market and by far this is the best bang for your money. It is a very sharp looking TV and the picture is fantastic. Well worth the money.

I spent 4 days online doing homework… comparing, reading Consumer Reports and 100′s of other TV reviews, checking out local store stock, and when the smoke cleared, I bought THIS TV. Up front, that should say a lot…

Pros: Current with the technology, unbeatable Amazon.com price, the display is just awesome, optimal sound system @ a low wattage (20W RMS), NTSC and ATSC (HD) tuners built-in, power-save, 3 different display modes, 3000 : 1 contract ratio, its styled look, footprint, etc., and I set it up in only 5 minutes!

Cons: As you can probably tell already… I very happy with it, and have no real “complaints”. The only down things are that it’s not PC compatible, a 2nd HDMI port would be nice (I bought a 5 into 1 port HDMI switcher), and a little better pedestal angle adjustment (but not for what you’d have to pay). I’ll live with it fine the way it is. This is the perfect LCD for a bedroom, den, or similarly sized viewing area.

Granted this is my first LCD TV, but upon comparison shopping, it’s one HDTV w/ digital surround sound that just blew me away. This TV has all the connectibility that the everyday tuber will ever need, and it’s up-to-date with today’s technology. Cablecards aren’t all they’re cracked up to be, you know. It’s got practically every I/O port you may want, even optical (digital) audio out for recording… and the big plus is the HDMI port. It’s state-of-the-art (ONE cable for digital sound and video). I got a great price on it with no extras (tax or shipping) from Amazon.com. Check one out in your locale, and you’ll see. Peace.

I’m not an expert on evaluating HD displays. However,

after connecting the TV to a Time-Warner cable box (Scientific Atlantic) using a HDMI cable, I can’t see how the HD picture and sound could be any better. It’s kind of neat how the cable box shows on the front if the HD signal is a 720p or 1080i. You can see the difference in the picture between the two. As an aside, I had this cable boxes hooked to a SD TV via coax before the HD TV arrived. I notice a significant improvement in the quality of the picture compared with the standard non-HD cable box.

    Cheers.

Before purchasing this tv I bought a Syntax Olevia 23″ widescreen. I was extremely disappointed with the picture of the Syntax, especially dark scenes which appeared “muddy”. I took it back, bought the Panasonic 26″ from Amazon and have been amazed at the picture quality ever since. The sound is really good too, but the picture is what makes this tv. It is the best picture of all LCD’s that I viewed at a local electronics store. It’s a little pricier than some but the quality of the picture makes up for the extra cost.

Our research came down to the Samsung or the Panasonic 26″ HDTVs. Both had excellent picture quality but the Panasonic is also a better looking set in our opinion. The Samsung has a reflective black border and this might have been an issue in a brightly lit kitchen, no problem with the Panasonic. Shipping from Amazon was amazingly fast and the set arrived in perfect condition. May put this set in the bedroom and get the Panasonic 32″ for the kitchen. Everything broadcast in HDTV is truly spectacular and if ever there was a network that would benefit from this technology it’s the Food Network…what are they waiting for?

I’ve had this LCD TV in my house for a few weeks now and I am very happy with the quality of the picture, size and design. Best way to break this down into a short review would be to list the pros and cons:

PROS: nice design; wonderful picture for HD signal and DVDs; sturdy stand; plenty of inputs

CONS: remote control is terrible, shocks me that Panasonic would make such a nice television and then engineer a remote that is just awful; no PC input

Being new to the new flat screen TVs I am a little ignorant of why/how analog signals fit this widescreen TV, but they do and the picture doesn’t seem stretched at all. All in all I am very happy with this television and don’t miss my bulky cathode ray tube. This TV is perfect for a bedroom, office or anywhere a smaller TV can be used. The only major downside is the atrocious remote control that comes with it, but that’s not enough to take this down another star.

    ***** HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I did a lot of research before buying my first HDTV. I looked for one with the best price, specifications, and product reviews. After spending some time debating, I went ahead with this Panasonic LCD HDTV. At $800, I think it is well worth the money paid and it’s a perfect size for those living in a small house/apartment or a small room. The picture quality for HDTV is outstanding with really detailed and bright colors. Watching an NFL game in HD makes you feel like you’re really there. I use DirecTV for my non-HD channels and the picture quality for that is also good. Obviously, it’s not as good as HD but for satellite TV it is clear, although the colors can sometimes look weird on some channels. However, you can just change the picture using the menu button.

The sound is simulated Surround Sound and it’s as good as you can get without buying an actual home theater system.

I also use this HDTV with my Playstation 3. I did not know how to make my PS3 switch to HD display, but I figured it out eventually (you need to go to “Display Settings”). With an HDMI cable, NBA 2K7 looks fantastic and almost looks like the real deal. Also, watching Talladega Nights on Blu-Ray is beautiful.

The only problem I have with this TV is that although it has built in tuners to receive HD channels, you will have to buy an HDTV antenna to stop the macro-blocking on some of the HD channels. I would recommend the Zenith HDTV-UHF Digital Indoor Antenna. Also, the Amazon description of this TV says that it supports 1080i, but it seems like it only goes up to 720p. Overall, though, I am very happy that I chose this HDTV. I can’t wait until I watch the Super Bowl on this thing!

i am a gamer and for a while i was using the standard tv set. i recently bought a x box 360 and i know that i needed to upgrade. this tv is perfect for what i need with a decent price. the picture quality is excellent all of the games look sharp and crisp. only draw back is that i have standard cable programming and the picture is slightly warped on the edges. this is not a big problem it is hardly noticable.
