I am on the birthcontrol pill and have a problem with melasma. I have to use sunblock every day and I have tried every single one out there. This is the only one that: 1) doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy 2) doesn’t run into my eyes and burn 3) actually blends well with my makeup and pressed powder. I’ve stopped buying all the others, and now just use Sola Sense Clear Zinc. The small .50oz jar is airline travel friendly. That’s something that’s hard to find in other sunblocks that usually come in huge tubes. I highly recommend this sunblock.

This is the best sunscreen for faces. I have sensitive skin and play tennis in Florida. It does not break out my skin.

I love Solar Sense’s face stick for the kids. It’s quick and easy to put on and doesn’t run in their eyes. I bought this one because it was a better deal and liked the antioxident idea, but the kids totally balked at putting on the cream. It’s perfect for older kids or adults because it’s not greasy or anything, but if you have younger children, the face stick is the best.

This product is pretty amazing. I have searched for years to find a sunblock that is non-irritating to my face and especially my eyes! Obviously you shouldn’t put anything on you eyelids, or within direct contact with your eyes, but you can put Solar Sense right up to the “crow’s feet” region, browline, and even under eyes..(but not up to lashes of course.) I also put it on my neck, ears, and chest. It doesn’t smell strong like other sunblock’s either!
It is reasonably priced, and very convienent to carry.
Depending on your skin type and season (level of humidity vs dry air)
you may have to wear your facial moisturizer under Solar Sense. In the dry times, I have had to wear my facial moisturizer underneath the Solar Sense.
Your face actually feels soft after about 15 minutes post application, and not greasy!!
Lasts all day!

I have been an ocean lifeguard for over 20 years. Finding a reliable sunscreen for my type of work can be tedious. I need a sunscreen that holds up in the sun, is very water and sweat resistant, and won’t irritate my eyes. Many sunscreens make the above claims, however, few back up those claims. I realize that this product says it is just “water resistant”. I have found it to hold up very well while sweating and while in the water. Even washing it off your hands after applying it can be a challenge ( I had to wash my hands with soap and water twice to remove it). Even after repeat applications it has not gone into my eyes at all. Many sunscreens which claim not to irritate the eyes eventually make their way into them after reapplying a few times (which is a necessity for me since I work all day outside). I even checked the “Environmental working Group’s” website ([...]) which tested over 1,000 sunscreens this year for UVB,UVA protection and how stable the sunscreen is under the sun. This sunscreen scored “HIGH” in all three categories. The EWG also recommends this sunscreen due to low levels of chemical sunscreens in its ingredients. I have found that after repeat applications I do get a little of a white cast-not as bad though as other physical blockers I’ve used. I do think it is a little pricey since you only get 1/2 an ounce in the tub, but I also think it is worth every penny. I highly recommend this sunscreen.

I like this sunscreen, because the level of protection I get is quite good. But I don’t like how it goes on. It tends to be rather stiff, and doesn’t spread easily. It requires a fair bit of work to get a smooth consistent application. This isn’t too hard at the trailhead, where my reflection in a mirror or window is sufficient to work it in and make sure I have all my exposed skin covered.
Fast forward a few hours, when I climbing up a mountain and need to reapply. No mirrors, and our team is only stopping for a few moments to apply and keep hauling. Invariably, I always missing a few spots. And when I get home, it’s painfully obvious. It also leaves white stains on my shirts where it rubs off my skin.
